Programme will be prepared by the EMS, which will apoint the Scientific Committee. There will a call for suggestion of members of the Scientific Committee from the EMS member societies, after which the membership of the committee will be approved by the EC, in consultatio with its chair.
Local organisers will name the "programme subcommittee", which will be in charge of the congress programme coordination (including minisyposia and contributed talks) and will ensure the mathematical diversity and coverage of the full spectrum of mathematical disciplines. Additionally, satellite events will cover all mathematical disciplines and will support the mathematical diversity.
The programme subcommittee will be formed after (and in case of) the success of the bid.
Additionally, the orginising committee was extended with an aim to:
- Enlarge the territory covered by the members of the OC and promote European dimension of the congress;
- Promote the event - each member of the extended committee will be responsible for promotion of 8ECM in his country. In particular, in this way we will be able to secure greater participation and Satellite Events;
- Advise and support the sub-committees and Satellite Conferences;
- Link the OC with national Match Societies.
Local organising tasks will remain the responsibility of the organising committee.
