CONGRESS VENUE(S)
The congress will be organised in Portorož, which is a known congress destination. Congress centre Bernardin has the needed capacity to host the 8th ECM with differently-sized halls. their largest, Europa Hall, can accept up to 1,100 guests, which makes it perfect for ceremonies. In case of an increased interest in the event, Auditorium Portorož can accept up to 1,800 people and the their facilities can be used for ceremonies.
Besides the Congress Centre, University of Primorska Faculty of Tourism Studies (UP TURISTICA) with additional 10 lecture rooms is just a few steos from the St. Bernardin resort, which we can utilise for congress purposes.
CONGRESS HALLS
Congress Centre Bernardin and UP TURISTICA offer up to 26 differently-sized 26 halls. Their capacities range from 20 - 1,100. The halls in the Bernardin congress centre can be combined or split into rooms, which enables great adaptability. We can provide enough halls for parallel sessions. Depending on the congress programme, some examples are:
- parallel sessions, with lecture rooms for at least 50 people: 25 (+4)
- parallel sessions, with lecture rooms for at least 200 people: 10 (+1)
- plenary sessions: Europa hall with 1,100 seats and Emerald hall with 680 seats, where the event can be broadcasted or Auditorium Portorož
- Combinations: for example: 5 parallel invited lectures (in lecture rooms for at least 250 people), which still leaves 16 lecture rooms for at least 50 people.

OTHER FACILITIES
In the unlikely event that the interest will still surpass the capacities, we can also utilise nearby schools (Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport and Maritime Highshool) and institutes (Marine Biology Station). All these are in 500 m radius from St. Bernardin.
CONDITIONS
All facilities, those in Bernardin and at the university, are air-conditioned and offer comfort for all guests. Technical equipment (including beamers, white boards, flip charts, a wifi connection and other needed equipment) is fully available in all of the facilities.
