By Train
Portorož can be reached by train via Koper or Trieste. Slovenian railroads will take you from Koper to most European cities via Ljubljana. Germany, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland are all connected via direct routes with Ljubljana. Between Koper and the Congress venue in Portorož local buses run, connecting the three cities on Slovenia's coastline - Koper, Izola and Portorož.

Depending on your origin, if you are unable to find direct fares to Koper, you may travel through bus stations in Ljubljana (Slovenia) or Trieste (Italy).
